His first day photos...

I swore I was ready for it, too. More than ready.
But, golly, I miss him. And his brother roams the house looking for him, so sad. We are adjusting.
Today, Cory and I were able to pick him up together after school. The first item of business he had to report was that he had been kissed. Excuse me??! Yes, kissed.
He gave the following explanation...
"Well, she asked me to be her friend and I said ok. Then she told me she was going to kiss me, AND SHE DID! She wasn't even joking! It wasn't on the mouth, just on the cheek. (With a look of relief on his face.) I thought she was joking. I didn't kiss her back, I promise."
When I replied he could be friends with anyone, just not the kind that kiss, he replied...
"I didn't want to hurt her feelings, I wonder why she doesn't know that I am too young to kiss??" (Insert quizzical, angelic expression!)
Cory and I were trying so dearly not to laugh. (Well, Cory looked a little too proud.)
I let him know that it was wonderful to make a new friend, but if she tried to kiss him in the future he would have to let her know that he wasn't allowed.
To which he replied, "I made LOTS of new friends today, but that was the only kiss. I can't remember any of their names... Another girl asked me to be her friend, and I asked if she liked superheros. She said Spiderman was her favorite, so I said we could be friends." (He wore a Spiderman shirt to school today, naturally.)
He could only describe the kiss from a girl wearing a princess dress during "dress up" and that the teachers didn't see it. I should say not. :)
Oh dear.
Dear School Year,
Be good to my boy.
Please let the kissing portion of the program stay away for another 20 years.
Thank you very much.
Love & Laughter,
abby
